Although it is possible to make plant room lourves as complicated arrayed family objects, the easiest way is to make them as Curtain Walls.
First create a lourve mullion:
Create a lourve profile or load one from the Library: S:\Revit Libraries\Approved Library\Profiles\Mullions
If the profile has parameters, and you want to create different sized lourves, right click on the profile in your project browser and pick Type Properties, Duplicate or Rename and change the parameters.
Then in your project browser goto Families>Curtain Wall Mullions>Rectangular Mullion.
Pick one of the types under Rectangular Mullion, right click and select Type Properties.
Duplicate button, give it a sensible name, like Lourve.
Point Profile parameter to the profile you loaded above.
Change the Material if you want.
To set up a curtain wall as a lourve:
Create a new Curtain Wall by picking an existing one, Duplicate, then change Type Properties
Curtain Panel = Empty System Panel
Vertical Grid Pattern=None
Horizontal Grid Pattern
- Layout=Fixed Distance
- Spacing=120 (depends on size of lourve you use – see above)
Vertical Mullions=None (for all types)
Horizontal Mullions
- Interior Type=Rectangular Mullion:Lourve Mullion (or whatever you called it)
- other types=None
You might need to do some experimenting with parameter values to get it to looking the way you want (you might want border mullions).
To use a Curtain Wall Lourve
In a curtain wall select the panel you want to be a lourve (unpin it), in Properties window change it to the Lourve Curtain wall you made above.
To put it in a wall or roof, make an Opening in the wall or roof, then draw the lourve curtain wall in the hole. You might want to add Horizontal & Vertical border mullions to the curtain panel properties when it is in a wall.
