Worksharing allows multiple people to work on a single Revit file. Worksharing uses a single Central file, with each user having their own Local file.
Users open and work on their own local file, periodically saving their work back to the central file, and updating their local file with changes by others from the central file.
Typically a project will have a main central file where all the sheets (i.e. drawings and schedules) are derived from. But linked files may also be workshared, so are also technically 'central' files. Therefore it is better to identify which files sheets are created in, and which files are merely linked in, rather than whether a file is a central file or not.
Note that Revit has restrictions and recommendations on renaming and moving Central files.
Make sure you follow them.
