The Revit Execution Manual sets out the particulars of how a project's Revit files have been set up.
It includes how things that have been agreed with others has been set up.
It builds on, and must comply with, the associated Project's BIM Execution Plan.
HOW TO CREATE A REVIT EXECUTION MANUAL
Start with the latest standard Revit Execution Manual template. Don't use another project's manual, it will undoubtedly be out of date.
The template contain default text that reflect's office standards. Edit, delete and add new text to make it specific to your project.
Don't worry about filling everything in. It is a record of how the project's Revit files are set up so fill it in as decisions are made.
Each page has a status. Use this to show whether the page has been agreed, implemented etc.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE REVIT EXECUTION MANUAL
The manual (in PDF form) must be available to all project team members. Put it somewhere it is easily, and obviously, accessible. But you should restrict who can edit it.
Provide it to other consultants you provide Revit files to so they understand how the project files have been constructed. If the manual is constantly changing issue it every time a new Revit file is issued.
If a BIM Execution Plan is required by the project, this document will be a reference document. Don't duplicate information in the Revit Execution Manual into other documents, always insist it be referenced.
