A room is a model element so you can add rooms to each design option.
ADDING ROOMS
Best practice is to be in the design option when you add the room, rather than try and move it later.
Rooms must only be bounded by walls that are part of the option.
If the room is bounded by walls NOT in the current option, Revit will show a warning “Option Conflict between Rooms”.
If you have a room tag in the view the area value will be changed to “Option Conflict”.
The work around is to add Room Separation Lines within the option to define the room.
ROOM TAGS
Room Tags are NOT part of an option, they are view dependent.
If you add them in a view which is NOT showing the option you are working in, they will appear grayed out whilst in that option.
Once you leave that option they will disappear (like dimensions do when objects they dimension are not visible).
Room tags must be placed only in views where the option they relate to has been set via Visibility/Graphics.
Refer to PRESENTING DESIGN OPTIONS for more information.
ROOM SCHEDULES
Room schedules are views so which option is show is controlled by Visibility/Graphics.
Refer to PRESENTING DESIGN OPTIONS for more information.
Note that rooms in different options can have the same room number.
