CREATE RENDER IMAGE WITHOUT A BACKGROUND

METHOD 1

In Revit simply save the rendered image as a .png file.

METHOD 2

Turn the background into alpha channel.

In PHOTOSHOP:

• • Export Revit render as TIF

  • Open in Photoshop

  • Isolate the Alpha channel

  • Use Magic Wand to pick everything that is 'white'

  • Turn the color channels back on

  • Invert the Selection

  • Convert the background to a true layer

  • Edit - Cut

  • New Layer

  • Edit - Paste

  • Done!

In GIMP:

• • Export Revit render as TIF

  • Open in Gimp

  • Set Gimp background colour to match images background colour (usually white)

  • Menu Colors > Color to Alpha...

  • Done!
