PROBLEM:
You would like to know how to reset the position of the Properties Palette and Project Browser in Revit to their default "out of the box" position.
CAUSES:
In some cases when the Properties palette and/or Projet browser are moved to a second monitor and the monitor gets disconnected, it becomes impossible to drag them back to the monitor which hosts the application. Attempting to deactivate then reactivate the Properties palette or Project browser or from the Ribbon (View > Windows > User Interface) does not work.
If Revit crashes they can become 'stuck'.
SOLUTION:
Make sure Revit is not running.
Using the Windows Registry editor, select and delete the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit {Product Name} {version}
• {Product Name} means Architecture, or blank if Revit OneBox.
• {version} means your release of Revit (2014, 2015, etc.)
e.g.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2015
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2015
Relaunch Revit
