The procedure below is the quickest way to prepare a Revit file for issuing to anyone else.
Unfortunately it doesn't always work. If it doesn't use the manual method: ISSUING REVIT MODELS.
HOW TO SET UP (if not already done)
In the Revit project file:
Create 3D view, name it Z_3D View for Export
Use Visibility Graphics to hide what you want to exclude.
Place on a Sheet.
Number sheet Z001, name it Z_3D View for Export.
Create a Revit file containing Grids only:
Make sure the project Revit file is open.
Create New Revit project, use blank or <none> template.
Go back to the project Revit file, go to a view where all grids are visible.
Isolate grids then select them all, or select with a window and use filter to exclude everything but grids.
Copyclip.
Go back to new Revit project file.
Paste Aligned to same place.
Save using appropriate name, e.g.
1567_LNK15_grids.rvt
Close.
EXPORT FROM REVIT
Open the Revit project (can be a local file).
In Project Browser find sheet called Z_3D View for Export.
Right click on this sheet, select Save to new file . . .
Save to location where the file will be issued from (create the folder if it doesn't exist).
Name the file as per project protocols, including next revision.
(e.g. MD-AR-00001-19.rvt)
Close the Revit project file.
PREPARE FOR ISSUING
Open the file saved above.
Insert the Grids Revit file, origin to origin.
Bind the Grid link, only tick Grids in dialog box that appears.
Unload any other links.
Create a new sheet - number Z000, name it Starting View.
Place title block from:
...Library\Titleblocks
called:
Starting View with Disclaimer.rfa
Fill in the details on the title block - Project Name, Address, Status (always Preliminary) Date Issued, Revision, etc.
Under Manage > Starting View select the sheet you just made.
Save.
