Usually alternative designs will need at presented as some point, i.e. placed on sheets, annotation added, schedules created.
As only model objects can live within a design option these tasks are achieved via views rather than design option commands.
CREATE A VIEW OF A DESIGN OPTION
Start by duplicating a similar view that shows the Main Model (i.e. current design)
Rename the new view.
Open the Visibility/Graphics dialog. Go to the Design Options tab.
Select the design option you want shown in the view.
<Automatic> means the current primary will be used. As which view is primary can be changed use <Automatic> for views that show the current design.
(primary) marks the option that is the primary view.
ADD ANNOTATION
Annotation (text, dimensions, tags etc) can now be added to this view.
Note it makes no difference when you add annotation whether you make the option active or not, as annotation can not be part of a design option.
Also that annotation added in another view (which does not show this option), whilst the option is active, will NOT appear in this view.
Refer to WORKING IN DESIGN OPTIONS for more information on how annotation behaves.
SCHEDULES
Schedules, like other views, can be controlled using the Visibility/Graphics dialog.
Create new schedule or duplicate a similar schedule that shows the Main Model.
Rename the new view.
Open the Visibility/Graphics dialog.
Select the design option you want shown in the view.
ROOMS
Rooms themselves are model objects so exist within options, but room tags are annotation so do not live inside options.
Refer to ROOMS and DESIGN OPTIONS for more information.
