Some architectural schedules are ordered by Specification Section Headings.
The idea is schedules can then be read in conjunction with the specification.
The first step is to provide a parameter for all scheduled objects that can hold the specification section heading.
Instructions on how to do this can be found in:
GUIDELINES > SCHEDULES > SPECIFICATION HEADINGS in SCHEDULES - SETUP
Once specification headings have been assigned to objects and materials in a project schedules can be set up that group schedules by specification head.
GENERAL SCHEDULES
Use this method for all schedules except Material schedules (see below on how to do those).
Include Assembly Description as a field.
Under Sorting/Grouping tab sort by Assembly Description, tick Header.
Then sort by Type Mark (or what parameter is being used for code).
Then under the Format tab select Assembly Description and tick Hidden Field.

MATERIAL SCHEDULES
Material schedules are created from Quantity Takeoff schedules in Revit.
Then only parameters beginning in Material: are included.
To set up a schedule that uses Specification Headings:
Include Material: Keynote as a field.
Under Sorting/Grouping tab sort by Material: Keynote, tick Header.
Then sort by Mark (or what parameter is being used for code).
Then under the Format tab select Material: Keynote and tick Hidden Field.
