Fruit & Spice Cookies

½ cup salted butter, softened

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon molasses

1 large egg

2 tablespoons water

1½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon natural unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

⅛ teaspoon ground cloves

¾ cup currants

¼ cup golden raisins

½ cup walnut halves

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Spray baking sheets with Pam, or line will Silpat.

In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and molasses. Beat on high until light and fluffy. Add egg and water, and beat to combine.

In a medium bowl whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and cloves. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in fruits and nuts.

Using cookie scoop, drop dough 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.

Bake until edges are golden brown, approximately 12 minutes. Transfer to racks and let cool completely.
