The Red Pyramid
Rick Riordan
Riordan, Rick. The Red Pyramid, Disney Hyperion. New York. 2011.
The Red Pyramid, by the author Rick Riordan is a fiction book that ages ten and up would love, because it has adventure, romance and mystery. Rick Riordan is a famous author, he has many books and they are very interesting.
The Red Pyramid is about two teens, a girl named Iris and a boy named Luke. They are fighting against monsters in their hometown. Iris and Luke were brought up in the same town but didn’t know each other, until the day monsters started attacking their town for no reason. They met each other underground when they were running away from monsters. After they met, they found out a secret about their families. They discovered that for centuries their families were fighting monsters and that Iris’s family had magic and Luke’s family were ninjas.
Weeks later, Iris attained poison. The only way for her to survive the poison is to rub a special flower on the poison, called selsiumax. It grows in the Far East, inside a cave that is guarded by evil creature from a different realm. These creatures are so ferocious that no one has ever survived.
Luke travels halfway across the world just to find the antidote for Iris. The creatures from another realm are vicious for blood. It is a mystery to all, if Iris lives or dies.
The Red Pyramid is a good book, it is very well written and it pulls the readers in so the reader never wants to stop reading. Even though this book is fiction it seems like it’s real life. Recommending for teens.
