Sherri L. Smith‘s Fly Girl is a book that many people can relate to. This book teaches you to never give up in pursuing your dream.
Fly Girl is a story about a teenage girl named Emma, the main character, who lives in Louisiana, and always had the desire to pilot an airplane since she was a little girl. Even though she faces some challenges, like being not able to attend an aircraft school because she was a girl, she still manages to pursue her dream.
Fifteen years pass, and Emma still has the passion to fly. Emma goes to an aircraft service school but they don’t accept her because she was a girl, but that didn’t stop her from pursuing her dream. She goes to the aircraft service dressed like a guy and they didn’t notice that she was the same girl that was there a few days ago. After a few months the people start to get suspicious and it was starting to be hard to keep up with her act.
In the end, Smith talks about how Emma goes so far. Emma even dresses up like a guy. She also talks about what kind of decisions Emma makes and how the rest of her life went.
Many people relate to Fly Girl. The book teaches that no matter how hard you try you will always get there, even if you have to dress up like a guy.
