Guardians of the Tall Stones
Moyra Caldecott
Caldecott, Moyra. Guardians of the Tall Stones. Celestial Arts. Great
Britain, England. 1986.
The breath-taking novel, The Tall Stones, is the first book in Moyra
Caldecott’s mysterious and thrilling trilogy The Sacred Stones. It is
so outstanding and descriptive novel that once the reader starts to
read it, they won’t be able to set it down. They will want to attempt
to unravel the secrets of the tall stones.
In the novel The Tall Stones, there is a world guarded by people
called the guardians in which one does not age; it is connected by a
portal with our own. Alana, Kyan, Fabien and Tanya, a group of
outsiders, try to uncover the baffling secrets of the world of the
tall stones.
Zarek, the head of the world explorers group, has sent many outsiders
to go risk their lives to try to get past the guardians, and enter the
world of the tall stones. Alana, Kyan, Tanya, and Fabien are the last
outsiders willing to try. The outsiders approach the tall stones
slyly, but the guardians are too quick. The guardians capture the
four, and the outsiders almost die.
Alana, Kyan, Fabien, and Tanya explain to Zarek that the guardians are
much smarter than they had originally thought. Zarek is worried that
the outsiders will give up, but the four conjure up an ingenious plan
to go unseen by the guardians, so they can enter the portal to the
other world.
The four outsiders face many challenges against the guardians, as they
slowly put together the puzzling secrets behind the thrilling mystery
of the world of the tall stones.
Moyra Caldecott’s vivid adventure, The Tall Stones, is a fabulous
fiction novel that will captivate the reader’s mind until the very
last page. Once the reader is finished with the book, the reader will
feel a need to rush to the library and pick up the next book in The
Sacred Stones Trilogy. Though a little confusing at first because of
the many different points of views, this novel is a must read.
