Dickens, Charles. A Tale of Two Cities. Chapman & Hall. London, England.
A Tale of Two Cities is one of the great classic novels by the outstanding author Charles Dickens. It has been recognized as “One of Dickens' best,” says the New York Times. Charles Dickens has inspired authors for centuries with his ingenious way of writing. This book has evolved in so many ways, that it is one of the most well-known books of our time.
A Tale of Two Cities takes place in the time of the French-English War. It is about the two generals of the two armies, and their journey through battle. We follow them from before the battle, to the aftermath, and everything in between.
Geoffry Eisenhower, the general of the Great British Army, decided to attack France and kill the French army general, Jacques Chopin. Eisenhower and Chopin were best friends in their childhood years. But once they grew up, they were both recruited to different armies, and their feud began.
When the Great British Army attacked France, the French Army was more than prepared. They put up a good fight and overthrew the British. The French Army arrested Eisenhower. After a few months, Chopin visited Eisenhower.
A Tale of Two Cites is a fantastic book for readers that love historic novels. Though it is fictional, it seems that it is a true story. Charles Dickens’ master piece is quite a page turner. The New York Times says “A Tale of Two Cities is a literary master pierce.” This is quite an ingenious novel, and it has sold more than seventy million copies.
