Red Glass is an epic novel overflowing adventure, mystery and creativity. This book was written by the winner of the IRA young adult’s book award and winner of the Americas award, Laura Resau.
Red Glass is about Rachel and her best friends Toby Reey and Emily Yacom. Rachel keeps having dreams about Red Glass, the nickname given to the mythical Red Diamond gemstone. As archeologist struggle to find its history Rachel finally tells her friends where she found the red glass.
The truth is that Rachel found the gem by accident. She was off site when she tripped over a rock and found the gem lying underneath a stone. It came with something else; a note from the ancient Mayans. Rachel and her friends soon realized that the red glass is no ordinary gemstone. Rachel, Emily, Toby start looking deeper into the meaning of the note and the gem itself. The plot slowly unfolds into a quest filled with enemies and traitors, as Rachel and her friends find the secret of the Mayans and the secret to their wealth.
When the trio reaches the main pyramid they rest for the night and Emily goes and explores on her own. When Rachel and Toby finds her she is facing an ancient Mayan warrior. The warrior throws a dagger at Rachel and Emily sprints foreword….
Laura Reasau’s novel Red Glass is overflowing with adventure, mystery and feeling; and leaves the reader asking for more. Though the ending left the reader in the middle of excitement, Red Glass is a book that anyone would want to read.
