The Coffin Quilt is about a girl named Victoria who is living in a small town in the woods. As strangers with guns come and attack the small town, Victoria quickly collects all her valuable belongings and puts them in her quilt. She knows she will have a hard time escaping. The strangers take over her home and her friend’s houses.
The strangers take everyone and lock them all in a big building to live. While they invade and make the town theirs, Victoria secretly brings her quilt with the belongings into the building. In the quilt is a gun, valuable necklace, knives, and some bread. Victoria and her neighbors need to figure out a way to get rid of the strangers. The only equipment they have is the things Victoria brought, which could save lives of many.
Victoria gathers wood and her neighbors help her built catapults. Suddenly, the enemies barge into the building where they are constructing catapults, and start shooting their guns! Quickly, Victoria lets off all the catapults even though they aren’t finished, hoping the bullets hit at least some enemies.
The Coffin Quilt has been loved by many for a long, long time. Ann Rinaldi shows courage and bravery throughout the book. You will love every single page of The Coffin Quilt by Ann Rinaldi.
