Daughter of Witches is the story of two witches from the 1800s. Though some may think of witches as being servants of nature, bringing balance to the earth, the sister witches partake in evil séances to hypnotize young men to be their butlers, footmen, or servants.
When civilians start to suspect that the witches are evil, they are hanged at once. However, before Maria, the oldest and most powerful witch, dies, she casts a spell. This particular spell will bring them back to life when a woman about the same age as them lights a special candle in their old house on Halloween. Though the witches will only be back for one night, if they have time to convince the woman who lit the candle to join them and become a witch, they will be alive for as long as they wish.
Years later, an adventurous woman named Mandy, does research on the history of the town where the witches died and finds out all about the alleged spell that the witches cast. She decides that she will light the candle on Halloween night and see if all of the creepy legends are true. Both of the witches are resurrected and, sure enough, they start to show off their crazy spells. Mandy is consumed by their amazing powers and immediately accepts their offer of learning how to become a witch.
As the sun rises, the witches don’t turn to dust. They are free to live as long as they wish. They notice Mandy’s powers. She is stronger than both of them put together. The three witches travel around, with the goal of making a life for themselves. Soon, Mandy realizes that the witches are all evil.
