The Fellowship of the Rings is a great book that was made in New York in 1965 by J.R.R Tolkien. This amazing book’s success spread like a wildfire. The book was very popular in the Eastern United States but then it became popular all over the world.
A boy named Jacob runs out of his house and jumps on his horse-boat. As he sails out to sea he finds himself in a thunderstorm. He wake up on a beach and see a bunch of natives running towards him. One hits him with a club and he blacks out. He wakes up to find himself lying in a hammock. After a few weeks of recovery he thanks the kind natives and tries to leave, only to be stopped by the leader of the village and thrown in jail.
Jacob looks out the small window into the sunlight. Then, all of a sudden, the cell door is opened and he is taken to an arena. He looks up and sees a giant gorilla. Jacob hears a horse and sees it jump into the arena and he jumps on its back and it gallops away.
Jacob is in the jungle with tons of natives behind him riding hippos. He steers his horse and jumps the stream. When the hippos make it to the stream they instantly stop and start to whine. The horse slows and he is soon sailing away to the land of his people, the horse boat people.
The Fellowship of the Rings is a great book for young readers who like adventurous stories about brave people. It really pulls the reader in and makes them feel sad and happy.
