Gulliver’s Travels is an intriguing story about a young man and his potential for writing. This book was written in the early days of the 1900’s. Gulliver’s Travels is an elegant piece of literature by Jonathan Swift. It’s a Rainbow Classic, and earned approval from the highest standards of Must Read Co. This book caused many politicians to become outraged over it’s extreme political views. Despite this, Jonathan Swift courageously published his book. It went on to melt the hearts of many. This book is incredibility illustrated by R.M Powers. She contributed her elegant style and modern taste of art to Gulliver’s Travels.
Gulliver’s Travels starts out with scenes of Gulliver’s mushy love life, leading into battles and governments problems. Gulliver and his fiancée were boating on the Easter Island Lake in a destroyed flotation device they called a boat. A bullet came soaring through the bottom of the boat, startling both of them. Gulliver’s fiancée, Andrea shout out in terror. They lived a very poor and unsafe life. Their living location was becoming more and more dangerous.
He left his fiancée in hope of living a better, richer life. He went to the British government, they started him with a high salary. He went to the British, as his first choice for work, because they had supplied him with his pens and paper, which had given his life a great passion for storytelling.
Gulliver worked for the British government and wrote poems and stories. Gulliver told his stories in coffee shops and outside parks. He eventually went back to his fiancée when he finally had enough money saved up. They opened a book store, “Gulliver’s Travels.” The British soldiers would visit the shop every once in a while for story time and tea.
This marvelous piece of writing has been read by people around the world. It has become a piece of writing everyone heard about. This book outraged some, and earned the smiles of others. The characters and opinions in the book have made curious minds think ideas they had never thought of before. Gulliver’s Travels has started conversations at dinner tables and people quoted famous lines from the book, in president speeches. This courageous battle and love story is an excellent read for anyone.
