Grave Robbers
Ramsey Montgomery
Montgomery, Ramsey. Grave Robbers. Bantam Books. New York, New York. 1990.
Grave Robbers is a story by Ramsey Montgomery. It is one of his many novels. In this book, Montgomery reflects on modern crime and the greed of those who will stop at nothing to get what they want. This book will draw you into it as if you where there, experiencing what is happening to protagonists Andrew and Roy. This book is an excellent example of a cliff hanger and is well worth your time.
Roy and Andrew have been best friends for as long as they could remember. They are drawn to mysteries and love a good thrill. So, it was natural that they would be puzzled by the Indian treasure legend that surrounds their town. One day, the duo decides to investigate the legend, and heads to the caves.
Everything goes as planned until they start finding mysterious artifacts. Shovels, buckets, and chisels all point to the fact that people have searched there before. When they uncover handguns, they know something is wrong. They soon find a chest filled with gold coins and some bones. Then they know what happened. Grave robbers were here.
Andrew and Roy tell the police what they found, but to no avail. Then Roy goes missing. Acting fast, Andrew gets audience at court to explain his story. Will Roy be found? What really happened in that cave? Will these robbers be brought to justice?
Ramsey Montgomery really brought this mystery to life and filled each page with such detail that it seems as if you are there, beside Andrew and Roy as they continue their quest. This book was very interesting, but the beginning was rather dull. Overall, a compelling read.
2.5 out of 5 stars.
