Halt’s Peril is a suspenseful story of adventure, terror and betrayal
by the skilled Arthur John Flanagan. This is the ninth well written
novel in the series, Range’s Apprentice. This book will be loved by
the public for generations because of interesting charters and daring
plot.
Halt’s Peril is about a young boy named Halt that grows up with his
widowed mother on a farm. At the age of five he finds out his father
was the best archer in all the lands and he is soon to be sent off to
be the ranger’s apprentice. He studied with the ranger many for years,
growing in skill and bravery.
One day, while walking through the thickly wooded forest, he finds a
cave. Curiosity gets the better of him and he walks silently inside to
explore. To his horror, he finds his father’s corpse lying in the cold
stone floor of the cave. As pieces start coming together in his head
he realizes this cave is the ranger’s cave, and the weapon drove
through his fathers heart is no other than the ranger’s. At once he
realizes that the ranger must have been the one behind the mysterious
murderer.
Full of grief and rage, Halt walked back to the ranger’s cabin, but
the ranger could not be found. Warily, Halt prowled the land in seek
of revenge. After some time he came upon the ranger’s footprints. The
trail led him to his enemy. “Ranger!” he screamed with rage, “I have
come to give to you what you deserve! I know you killed my father!”
Halt drew his bow, but the ranger was quick. Before Halt’s arrow was
out, the ranger’s was flying with precision toward Halt.
You wont be able to tear yourself away from this book. The master
author John Flanagan will be a favorite of many. Halt’s Peril will be
loved by all generations for many years to come.
