Larklight

Larklight is a story by Philip Reeve it has been a best seller since it came out in 2006.

Larklight, is a story about two boys and two flying pigs who join a pirate crew in outer-space it takes place in the present. The first boys name is Key. It is not his real name, he just likes keys a lot, so he calls himself Key. The other boys name is Max, he likes to collect bugs and he also has a very large mustache. The two flying pigs are twins the first ones name is D, he has a dream to one day become a spider, and the other ones name is Charlie, he doesn't like anything.

D and Charlie were flying around one one day, when they saw a giant flying ship come out of the sky. It was like nothing they had ever seen. The ship was 1000 feet long and 300 feet high. D and Charlie fly into it to investigate.

Meanwhile, Key and Max are walking home from school. As they are walking, they see the giant ship. Max said, “That looks like it’s from space.”Key said, “Let’s go see.” They go and look at it from underneath. They see a door with a ladder coming out from it; then they climb up and go inside.

As D and Charlie enter the ship, they find a evil witch who turns D into a giant crab and turns Charlie into a giant tree. The witch says to them, “Go destroy the city!” So D goes on to terrorize the city and Charlie just stays there, because he’s a tree, and trees cant move.

When Key & Max enter the ship, they hear a voice say “let’s go!” Then the ship shakes. Key looks out the window in amazement to see that they were in outer space! One of the space pirates had heard them. The pirate came up and knocked them out. Next thing Max and Key know, it’s the year 2097 and they’re both 100 years old!

Meanwhile back in 2011, D is destroying the city. While he is destroying the city, the president comes out of the White House and says “There’s a giant crab in my yard. Why is there a giant crab in my yard? Why won’t anyone do anything about it?” Then his body guard Popeye goes outside, eats a can of spinach and then punches him into space back onto the ship.

Larklight is a heartwarming story. It interests its viewers because it just ends at a bad place making them want to read more.
