The Hobbit
J.R.R. Tolkien
Tolkien, J.R.R. Houghton Mifflin Company Boston. Boston, Massachusetts. 2001.
The Hobbit is a somber, and yet extraordinarily written book by one of the greatest writers of our time, J.R.R. Tolkien. Reader’s eyes will be scorched off after reading this book, because they are not worthy of this master piece. The Hobbit is the bible of fiction and should be worshipped.
The Hobbit starts with Bearded Bird Creature a Hobbit, a character who is more than just a character. He represents a life style that every human, animal, and insect should live by. Bearded Bird Creature’s story begins when he emerges from a bathtub. The moment he emerged he knew his destiny. He was meant to help everyone and experience everything because his hours were numbered and he should live them to the fullest. This was very true considering that Bearded Bird Creature’s spieces only lived for about a day. Not that, their lifespan was actually a day long, it was just that this species happened to be particularly stupid and had a habit of killing themselves by the end of 24 hours.
Bearded Bird Creature started on his ultimate journey. He had not gone far before he heard a high pitched noise off in the distance. It was a small gnome stuck in a tree. The gnome called for Bearded Bird Creature to help him but Bearded Bird Creature found the tree’s small victim bothersome so he sliced the gnomes head off. Then, for good measure, he pulled him out the tree and punted his tiny body. The news of Bearded Bird Creature’s strange actions spread within five minutes. Humdiddily, king of the Gnomes, was furious. He put out a warrant for Bearded Bird Creature. Humdiddily spent all of ten hours searching for him, but grew tired and stopped. He could not go on searching, so he contacted the leader of every major race and declared war on Bearded Bird Creature. It was Bearded Bird Creature vs. The World. The World had numbers but Bearded Bird Creature had several automatic weapons and, back then, you couldn't really match that. The war was a glorious battle, but it was over in less than 12 hours. Bearded Bird Creature somehow won.
Bearded Bird Creature believed that he was the last being on Earth and that nothing could harm him, but he was wrong.
The Hobbit is a brilliant book with maybe the most heart rending ending in the history of fiction.
This book will be treasured through out the ages and will no doubt out sell the Bible.
