Chasing Redbird starts off with a pair of troublesome and curious twin brothers, Ben and Jerry, who live on a fairly large farm with their talking horse James and their yappy dog named Yippy. One day, the two boys were out picking apples when they came across an old and deserted log cabin which looked as if it hadn't been touched in fifty years. They had to go inside it.
Ben and Jerry packed their bags with weapons, just in case something unexpected happened. As they walked to the abandoned cabin they were speechless to see what seemed like people living in the cabin! It was furnished, painted, and carpeted but currently nobody was here. Ben and Jerry walked around touching and holding everything
The following day, the twins decided to spy on who was living here. They camped out behind the bushes a few feet away from the cabin. As the night grew darker Ben and Jerry became anxious. They were eating berries when all of a sudden the creaky cabin wood door opened, the twin’s ran to see what lived there. They were so surprised. It had been a female fox, standing up like humans, taller than both of them wearing a green ankle length dress with a bonnet on her head. This was unreal. The boys roared with laughter and froze when the fox lady had noticed them.
There was a long silence before the red haired fox smiled warmly and said “Come join me for dinner.” They were so hungry they didn't even think before going into the cabin. Once Ben and Jerry had sat down for a meal the fox lady got out a large pot enough for both of the twins to fit in. She looked their way and opened her enormous mouth...
