The Elfstones of Shannara is a story written by the world renowned author, Terry Brooks. Terry Brooks is a great writer who has written many books in his past.The Elfstones of Shannara had sixteen weeks on The New York Times Bestsellers list and was enjoyed by people worldwide. This book is a fantastic fantasy book placed in the medieval times.

Jack and Joe were two mighty boys, and Silvia was a quiet, shy girl. Jack, Joe and Silvia must uncover the ancient swords in the underground tunnel of their peaceful village. Together they were on a journey that the king had requested them to do. They were to find ancient swords that were used by great heroes three hundred years ago. The swords were buried by the heroes so when a new hero came to find them, they had proof that there was such a thing as noble warriors.

They were given a map from the king before they started their journey. Jack, Joe, and Silvia started off in the tunnel to find these swords. The map was drawn by the gods so that the gods could find their way back, but rocks caved in and were never heard from again. About one hundred years later, the map was found again, but only half of it. Joe brought a crossbow so they could kill anybody that tried to stop them on their journey.

They decided to go through the middle of three paths that was removed from the map. Jack, Joe, and Silvia wanted to be the first there. They found the gold sword and went for the next one. They walked down the pitch black hallway to the next location. They found a large statue that was broken in two pieces. Jack, Joe, and Silvia picked up the last pieces of the statue and found the last sword there. It was covered in rock bits that had stuck to it. Jack, Joe, and Silvia were glad they went on this long journey.

The Elfstones of Shannara is a great book because it tells you how your life can change within days. You could become a hero to people by doing challenging and rewarding things. The Elfstones of Shannara was a fine book that was given many awards in the past years.
