Thank you Again, for Your Support of Students!

We are blown away by the support you showed during Great Give Day this month! One hundred and thirty donors helped raise $8,532 for our students. This means we were able to give away EIGHT silver tickets. In turn, that means EIGHT students will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Because of you, we also won the 8-9 a.m. power hour competition for the highest number of donors to give within one hour. That means the NICC Foundation will receive an additional $500 to give to students.

Thank you for being a silver lining for our students.

With much gratitude,

The Advancement Team: Wendy Knight, Katie Wiedemann, Sara Hageman and Kelli Holthaus

Thank You for Your Support: A Letter from Sheila Blatz

Dear Friends at NICC,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, cards and gifts! I had a mild to moderate stroke April 28 and am now on the road to recovery. I have therapy three times a week and my doctor is happy with my progress.

Life changes in an instant and it made me slow down and appreciate how precious life is. Hope to see you all soon and happy to be part of a great team.

Also special thanks to my BCS family that has had my back in my absence. I hope I can pay it forward soon.

Blessings to you all,

Sheila Blatz

Self-Care Tips and Inspiration

by Flannery Cerbin-Bohach, Wellness and Life Stage Program Manager

Self-Care Tip of the Week:

Reflect on what makes you feel better - tackling the hard stuff first or the easy stuff first? My vote: tackle the simple stuff first. Sometimes we are so overwhelmed by what needs to happen in our day, that just starting helps. To jumpstart your productivity try tackling the easier tasks first. That can be as simple as making your bed!

Inspiration of the Week:

50 State Challenge~ We’re approaching the time of year when many of us are thinking about summer vacations … maybe that annual fishing trip, an overnight to a water park, a trip “home” to visit loved ones or perhaps an overseas adventure. This year vacation planning seems as much up-in-the-air as other parts of our lives. I hope you and your family can enjoy a fun, safe and rejuvenating vacation this summer, even if that’s a staycation! In honor of “Summer Vacation Mode” I put together a two-part activity called the 50 State Challenge. Deadline: Thursday, June 4, EOD

Step 1: Think about the U.S. states you have visited or lived.

Step 2: Submit a photo and/or 150 word or less memory from one of the best U.S. trips you’ve taken. It could be just down the road or to one of the other 50 states! Click here to fill out the form! Hang tight because I’ll put together a summer vacation page including a map representing the places we’ve been.
