The Fitz four-minute passing period has been a controversial topic among students. Some think it's too long and some think it's too short. Our passing period is four minutes long, and we are expected to use the bathroom in those four minutes. Do you think we should have more time to move from class to class?
Do you have time to use the bathroom during the passing period? A variety of teachers don't let their students go to the bathroom, so students mostly go at lunch or in the morning. Students are saying that the passing period should be at least two minutes longer, that seems like a good idea because students will have time to do what they have to do, like use the restroom. A student said, “Sometimes I don't have enough time to use the bathroom [during passing period].” It could be because their class is far away from their current class and they don't have time. Some scholars don't even know if they will get to class on time even without using the restroom. Another student said,“Yes, [I can make it to class on time] if I don't get distracted.” This shows that some students don't have enough time to use the bathroom during passing period.
Most students do have time to use the bathroom, if their classroom is close. SUPPORT THIS.
If you are talking with your friends while going to your next class will you
make it on time? Well, according to an anonymous student, “Yes, if I don't get distracted.” This shows that some students do have time while talking to other people, but Falcons would have even more time to talk to their friends if they had a few minutes more for the passing period, or they could go to one of your teachers' classrooms to turn work in. Another anonymous student said, “No because I would like to go see my friends.” It could just be that they don't have their friends in their class or they do but cant talk to them as much.
Sometimes for kids it's hard to make it to class on time. So we should have
1 or 2 minutes more in order to... MAKE A STRONG ARGUMENT!
