Noches de Altares this year was hosted by the DLI program, Culture Club, and AVID on October 30. Noche de Altares is an event that DLI students must participate in. While most students enjoyed the event, there were some students did not like being a part of making the altars.
Those part of DLI who enjoyed this assignment weren't as vocal as those who didn't like it. One student said, “I liked having the creative freedom.” This student liked making an altar simply because they had creative freedom. That means not everyone hated participating in this assignment for Noche de altares.
Those parts of DLI who did not enjoy this assignment were very vocal about it. For example, one student quotes, “No, because I forgot the salt twice.” This student is forgetful, meaning that if they continuously kept forgetting, the whole altar could have been ruined because without one item, the altar would look ugly. This negative take on the altars are words many students agree with, except a select group of individuals. One popular reason some students did not like this was that they kept forgetting their materials.
All things considered, most DLI students enjoyed Noche de Altares. Clearly, the DLI students had mixed feelings about making the altars for Noche de Altares.
