"A Kind and Helpful Me"
This week we will learn with a thematic focus of "a kind and helpful me".
Students will learn ways to help others in good times and bad times. We will identify when a need is present and how we can best handle a situation that presents a need. Students will design "thank you" cards and explore the idea of saying "thank you" through their words and actions.
We will enjoy many learning stations with a holiday focus as well! There might just be some "bats, pumpkins, and spiders oh my" in our classroom this week!
Looking forward to...

Veterans Day
Do you know a VETERAN you would like to honor this Veterans Day? If you know someone who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, you are invited to add their photo to our Wall of Honor slideshow. You can either email your picture to Mrs. Vencill (bethany.vencill@gcisd.net) or send your photo to school with your student. Please label the picture with your student’s name, the veteran’s name and the branch of the military they served in. These pictures will be returned to you after Veterans Day. If you added a picture to our slideshow last year, I will add those photos again this year.
Pre-K Sign Up Genius
Thank you to everyone who has helped fulfill our needs by donating items on our Sign Up Genius lists. Please know that we appreciate you and all your support! We will continue to keep our lists current with classroom needs throughout the school year. Thank you!
Please remember ...
Your child needs the following items sent in their backpack, every day:
*a change of clothes in a ziploc bag
*a water bottle that they can manage without spilling
*2-3 healthy snack items (no items that require utensils, please)
*Daily Folder, signed each night
Dismissal Reminder:
If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please notify the office by a phone call by at least 2:00 p.m. Teachers and our front office staff do not always have access to email or are busy teaching or helping others. A phone call is required. Sometimes we have only one person in the front office, so we want to provide ample time to be able to meet your needs.
