Math

This week in math we will finish our About Me Order of Operations project. Their Unit 6 math test will be on Tuesday February 22nd. We will begin Unit 7 that covers Algebraic Reasoning. This unit spirals back to input/output tables with additive or multiplicative rules to follow.

Our homework for this week is to complete three missions in FRAX! There will be no homework in Canvas.

Science & Social Studies

This week in Science, we are wrapping up our unit review by completing a refresh of the characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.

We will complete a test review on Tuesday and take our district Science TEKS Check on Wednesday, the 23rd.

Test Corrections will be completed with any students scoring below an 80 and the grades will be entered into Skyward.

Daily STEMScopes assignments continue this week.

In Social Studies, we are headed into our final week of this unit. We are wrapping up our study of western expansion and manifest destiny, Lewis & Clark and the Louisiana Purchase, the War of 1812 and the Star-Spangled Banner, frontier life, the impacts of the railroad, as well as an overview of famous people, events, and inventions.

Reading/ Writing

This week students will be assigned a new book club book. Students will be responsible for different jobs that they need to complete and share with their book club group. The schedule of when their jobs are due is posted in canvas.

Students received new spelling words last week. Their activities will be due this Thursday the 24th. Their spelling test will also be this Thursday the 24th.

Students will have NO more poetry.

Book Talk #3 is due THIS Friday Feb. 25th. This book talk will be told from a minor character's point of view.
