What are we Learning?

Reading: I can read with a partner. I can read a book cover to cover.

Writing: I can come up with solutions to my problems during writing. I can think of what I want to write and then put all my details on the page.

Math: I can count and write numbers 1-5. I can put numerals 0-5 in order and build them on a tens frame. I can tell a set of objects without counting.

Science: I can observe and record properties of objects, bigger or smaller, heavier or lighter.

Social Studies: I can identify where I live. I can identify and recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag and the Pledge to the Texas Flag.

Ipads

Please create a routine with your child to make sure your child's Ipad is charged each night and brought to school each day!

We download apps together as a class. Please don't let your child download any apps at home!

Book Bags

Please make sure you have cut out your child's uppercase and lowercase letters and practice the letters your child still needs to master. Also, make sure you have cut out the blue sight word cards and yellow trick word cards. These words need to be placed separately in their own ziploc baggie or on a ring.

Don't forget to make sure your child brings their book bag to school EVERY DAY!

Library Day

Below is the day your child's class will go to the library each week! YOUR CHILD WILL RETURN THEIR BOOK THE DAY BEFORE THEIR LIBRARY DAY! Please make sure your child brings their book that day so they can check out a new book the following day. We always tell our students to keep their book in their backpack at all times (unless they are reading it) so it is always here at school when it's time for the library!

Your child came home with their new library book in a plastic bag with their name on it. Please help your child keep their library book in the plastic book bag when they are not reading it! This will help protect the book from any damage!

Going Home

If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please notify the office by phone at least by 2:00 p.m.Teachers and our front office staff do not always have access to email or are busy teaching or helping others. A phone call is required. Sometimes we have only one person in the front office, so we want to provide ample time to be able to meet your needs.
