August 23rd, 2021 Week #2

Wow! What a great first week!

This week brought us so much joy in Pre-K. We truly are thankful to have the opportunity to teach your young child during their Pre-K school year. Together, we will accomplish so many wonderful moments of growth throughout this school year. Please know that you as their parent(s) are a big part of your child's success. Thank you for your support, communication, and commitment to the success of your child's school year. We are all in this together!

Looking forward to...

Literacy

This week we will study how to take a "picture walk" through stories read aloud. We will compare real and make-believe differences within the stories.

Take a minute to read aloud with your child. Encourage them to compare the characters within the story. Comparing is a higher level thinking skill. What other items can your child compare within the story you share with them?

Math

We are learning to count objects with a focus on the knowing the last number counted represents our total amount.

Practice counting with your child at home, in the car, or when you go on a walk.

Social/Emotional

This week we are focusing on the word "classmates". Classmates create our "school family". Together our school family helps us grow, learn, and develop friendships.

Can your child share the names of new friends from school? Who are their classmates?

Please remember ...

Your child needs the following items sent in their backpack, every day:

*a change of clothes in a ziploc bag

*a water bottle that they can manage without spilling

*2-3 healthy snack items (no items that require utensils, please)
