Math

This week in Math, we will continue our learning with multiplication and division with decimals using models and the standard algorithm. Our focus this week is recognizing the difference between multiplication and division word problems and models. There will be homework in Canvas for Tuesday-Thursday this week. Students have until Friday to complete it.

Science & Social Studies

This week in SCIENCE, we will review the formation of common landforms, weathering, erosion, and deposition. We will also review fossils, fossil fuels, and the formation of sedimentary rock. We are gearing up for our test this week.

WE ARE TAKING OUR SCIENCE TEST ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8th!

This week in SOCIAL STUDIES, we will continue our study of the American Revolution. We will spend all 3 December weeks studying the war and the creation of our new country.

We will take our 2nd 9 weeks district Social Studies test next week so that all our assessments are completed before the break.

Reading/ Writing

This week we will be continuing our poetry unit. This unit will take us to Christmas break. We will be reading poetry, writing poetry, and playing poetry games. The students will have a poetry vocabulary quiz this week. The vocabulary is posted in Canvas! Students will also have their 2nd 9 weeks TEKS check on Monday.

We will be going to the library this Monday to preview the Book Fair.

Our 2nd book talk will be due this Friday Dec. 10. This book talk will be told from the main character's point of view. The rubric will be the same as last time, and is still posted in Canvas.

Students will have Poetry Week 12 this week!!

We will be continuing our Middle Of Year oral reading fluency Aimsweb Assessment this week.
