Math

This week in math we will finish our About Me Order of Operations project. Their Unit 6 math test will be on Tuesday February 22nd. We will begin Unit 7 that covers Algebraic Reasoning. This unit spirals back to input/output tables with additive or multiplicative rules to follow.

Our homework for this week is to complete three missions in FRAX! There will be no homework in Canvas.

Science & Social Studies

This week in Science, we begin our unit that covers circuits and electricity! Students will study multiple forms of circuits and have lots of hands-on learning! This two-week unit will take us up to spring break!

Daily STEMScopes assignments continue this week.

In Social Studies, we are beginning a new unit! We are midway through the 1800s already and are headed into our study of the Civil War. This 3 week unit covers the events leading up to, during, and after the Civil War.

Reading/ Writing

This week students will be working on their book club book. Students will be responsible for different jobs that they need to complete and share with their book club group. The schedule of when their jobs are due is posted in canvas.

Students will receive new spelling words this week. Their activities will be due next Thursday the 10th. Their spelling test will also be this Thursday the 10th.

We will have having Interim Math and Reading assessments this week, on Tuesday and Thursday!

Students will have NO more poetry.

Book Talk #4 is due Friday April 29th. This will be our final book talk of the year. This will be a "bag" book talk, which means that students will bring in 5 different items in a paper bag that are meaningful in their story. As they do the book talk, the students will pull out the items and share/ explain the
