Attention ALL 5th graders who will be attending Cross Timbers Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year:

Currently, the FLL Robotics Teams at CTMS are looking for NEW members to replace our outgoing 8th graders for our 3 FLL Robotics Teams.

No prior robotics or programming experience is necessary.

We can teach ALL new members all they need to know about designing, building, and programming a robot and what you need to prepare for to be successful at our FLL Robotics Competition.

If you enjoy working on a team, developing solutions to real-world problems, and working with building and programming robots or would like to LEARN how to do any of these things, then you should consider applying to join 1 of our 3 FLL Robotics Teams at CTMS.

We are accepting NEW Members Applications for NEXT Year's teams now, so if you are interested in our FLL Robotics Teams, and feel you would be an asset to our Team's NEXT year, I encourage you to complete and submit a NEW Members Application AND 2 Teacher Recommendations (both found on the top of the Home page of Mr. Dunn's CTMS Website).

These links are on Mr. Dunn's CTMS Website.

The deadline for ALL Applications for NEW members will be Fri. 4/15/22.

Applicants must submit a COMPLETED Application AND TWO Teacher Recommendation Forms in order to be considered for our teams.

Those chosen for NEXT year's teams will be notified via email by Mon. 4/18/22 and should expect to attend our 1st practice at CTMS from 3:30-5p.m. on Wed. 4/20/22.

If you have ANY questions or concerns about FLL Robotics at CTMS, please contact the coach & sponsor, Mr. Nate N. Dunn directly at:

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES FOR 5TH GRADE FAMILIES:

Spring is the time when our 5th grade families begin preparing to make many choices in regard to ALL THINGS MIDDLE SCHOOL. Please see the link to the updated information and dates from each of the GCISD middle schools. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Whisman if you have any questions throughout this process if you can't find the information you need from the link.

Dismissal and Ride Changes:

We are utilizing a new dismissal procedure called SafeID. This system is more streamlined and much safer for dismissal times. If your child's form of transportation home changes, PLEASE let the front office know as quickly as possible and before 2:30. Please email the 5th grade team to inform us of the ride change as well. We appreciate the communication as soon as you know their transportation has changed.

Canvas Information:

In middle school, students will use Canvas for their classes. We decided to utilize this platform this year to help prepare our students for middle school. Parents can sign up as an observer in Canvas. Observers can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment dues dates, announcements, and other course content. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course. Click here for support. If you'd like to see your child's view in Canvas, you can access this through Classlink.
