Science:
In science we are starting our Space Unit.
Main Ideas to know:
The Sun is the major source of energy for Earth. The winds, ocean currents and growth of plants are affected by the Sun’s energy. Seasons result from varying amounts of the Sun’s energy hitting Earth’s surface.
Each of the planets in our solar system orbits the Sun and maintains its place in relationship to the Sun and each other.
The Earth, Moon and Sun interact in ways that affect our planet in fundamental ways.
A model can be used to represent the Moon orbiting the Earth and the Earth orbiting the Sun.
Writing: We are in our Fairy Tale Unit.
Main Focuses:
We will be focusing on creating strong stories.
We will be careful when editing our papers and following a checklist.
We will also be thinking of the reader in mind. What gets them excited to read our writing? What should we add to make things flow easily?
We are making SO much progress on our fractured fairy tales! Be sure to ask your child what they are writing about.
We heard a few Tigers have a May birthday! Let's wish them the best birthday EVER!
