Welcome Ms. Prewitt

Hello! My name is Jessica Prewitt and I will be student teaching in Mrs. Potter’s Pre-Kindergarten class. I am a senior at the University of North Texas graduating with a Bachelors of Science with an Early childhood Education degree and certification. I will be joining the class twice a week starting October 19th through December, and return back to the class in March through May. I am so excited to join the Pre-K team and can’t wait to learn and teach alongside Mrs. Potter! See you soon!

"Community Workers"

This week we will learn with a thematic focus of "Community Workers".

  • A community is a group of people living in the same place.

  • Community workers keep people safe, healthy, and in touch with one another.

  • Community workers use tools to do their jobs.

  • A neighborhood is a place where people live.

Looking forward to...

Veterans Day

Do you know a VETERAN you would like to honor this Veterans Day? If you know someone who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, you are invited to add their photo to our Wall of Honor slideshow. You can either email your picture to Mrs. Vencill (bethany.vencill@gcisd.net) or send your photo to school with your student. Please label the picture with your student’s name, the veteran’s name and the branch of the military they served in. These pictures will be returned to you after Veterans Day. If you added a picture to our slideshow last year, I will add those photos again this year.

Haynes' Teacher Wish List

Potter's Teacher Wish List

Please remember ...

Your child needs the following items sent in their backpack, every day:

*a change of clothes in a ziploc bag

*a water bottle that they can manage without spilling

*2-3 healthy snack items (no items that require utensils, please)

*Daily Folder, signed each night

Dismissal Reminder:

If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please notify the office by a phone call by at least 2:00 p.m. Teachers and our front office staff do not always have access to email or are busy teaching or helping others. A phone call is required. Sometimes we have only one person in the front office, so we want to provide ample time to be able to meet your needs.

Masks...

For students who wear masks, please put 5-6 masks in a ziplock bag and place it in your student's backpack. We know masks provide comfort for some students and we wouldn't want them to worry if they get lost, soiled, forgotten or broken.

If you desire your child to wear a mask at school, we ask that you practice this with them at home. It is very hard to keep a 4 or 5 year old in a mask all day at school when they are not used to wearing one elsewhere. Thank you for your understanding.
