Crawling through Learning

This week we will continue our thematic study of "critters". Students will enjoy learning about insects in a more detailed manner. Your child will learn new vocabulary words such as "head, thorax, and abdomen" in reference to insects. We will explore the concept of "pests" and learn that some insects actually are "producers"! Try starting a conversation with your child about the word "catapult" as we will explore the meaning in many fun and exciting ways during the week. We hope you have as much fun discussing all these new words with your child as we do teaching them in class.

Looking forward to...

Gross Motor Activity

Stuck inside? Well here's a sure way to help your young learner get some wiggles out without the use of technology or a screen! All you need are some colored paper plates or simply colored pieces of paper. Tape them to a wall. Give your child colored bean bags that match the pieces of paper. If you don't have bean bags, you can use soft balls or squishy toys that are soft to toss. Encourage your child to toss the item to it's matching color on the wall. Increase the challenge by creating a greater distance between your child and the object on the wall. For a further extension, write numerals on the plates or paper and have your child yell out the color and number as they aim for that item.

Celebrate the success and encourage growth! Have fun!

Pre-K Support Needed

Our classrooms are extra blessed when items on our wish lists appear. We have had some parents ask if we had an Amazon Wish List for our classrooms. We have linked our wish lists below for your consideration.

Thank you to those who have helped supply classroom needs. If you are able to help any teacher, we greatly appreciate your kindness.

*We desperately need small ziploc bags, gallon sized ziploc bags, cotton balls, and q-tips.

Dismissal Reminder:

If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please notify the office by a phone call by at least 2:00 p.m. Teachers and our front office staff do not always have access to email or are busy teaching or helping others. A phone call is required. Sometimes we have only one person in the front office, so we want to provide ample time to be able to meet your needs.
