William N. Gaunt: Equestrian Artist Painter: Biography - Gallery of paintings - Prices at auction

William Norman Gaunt (1918-2001) was born in Leeds. He studied under Walter Bayes at Lancaster College of Art. His early work showed the influence of Ivor Hitchins. Gaunt later went on to specialise in equestrian subjects displaying an impressionistic style. He gained a National Diploma 1949 and was made a fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters 1959. He exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, London.
