Max Parsons: Marine Artist: Biography

Max Parsons (1915-1998) showed exceptional artistic talent from a very early age. Upon completion of his primary education, his abilities gained him admission to the Royal College of Art in London from where he graduated cum laude as an Associate of the Royal College of Art (ARCA) in the period after World War II. Upon graduating, Max Parsons decided to specialise in marine art, particularly with a view to re-creating images of some of the great sailing ships that once graced our seas and coastal waters. In this mission he has been outstandingly successful, so that he is now rated as one of the most popular artists of our time. His carefully crafted artistic masterpieces rely on both artistic skill and a deep knowledge and understanding of ships and the sea, especially in the days of sail.
