ROY PERRY was born in Liverpool in 1935 but is now most famously remembered for his scenes of Southern England including masterly images of cricket on the village green. He also undertook commissions for numerous corporate and military clients including the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Artillery and the Ghurkas. He was educated initially at the John Lyon School in Harrow and Southampton University and as his artistic career took off, held many successful one man shows in cities such as Oxford, Guildford, London, Henley and Cambridge as well as overseas in Barbados and New England, USA. He also exhibited regularly in prestigious galleries including the RA, RI, RBA and RSMA. He was awarded membership of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1978. Roy Perry’s work features in many important private collections including those of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, HRH the Prince of Wales and the late Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Mrs. Margaret Thatcher. The artist lived latterly in Shaftesbury in Dorset. He died in 1993.

Roy Perry’s work is highly sought after and as such fetches high prices at auction. For example, his “Upper Pool from Tower Bridge” recently fetched US$4,754 and his “Barge repairs & Tower Bridge from Wapping fetched US$3,240.
