Colin Maxwell Parsons: Artist Biography.

Colin Maxwell Parsons was born in Birmingham, England in 1936. His first career was as an engineer in the British Army where he served in a number of hotspots, including Egypt, Cyprus and Northern Ireland. In 1969, he embarked on his second career as a professional artist. Subsequently he moved to the Channel Islands where he was the driving force behind the creation of the Guernsey Guild of Creative Art. It was in the Channel Islands that he held his first solo exhibition in 1983 which was received with great acclaim, especially his painting "Evening Poppies". He later moved to California for a time where his landscapes became very popular. Since then he has staged solo exhibitions in the Channel Islands, the United States and Australia and their success has established him as one of the foremost contemporary landscape painters in Europe. He now divides his time mainly between England and the USA but also elsewhere, particularly for inspiration, exhibitions and promotions. Maxwell Parsons is a master at capturing the dreamy quality of the rural scene, often inviting the eye to follow a winding path into the innocent delights of the English countryside.
