LeRoy Neiman Artist: Biography and rare autographed print for sale

FOR SALE:

LeRoy Neiman: Very rare double signed framed poster: Ella in Flight 1983

Personally hand signed by both Neiman AND Ella Fitzgerald. Lightly framed.

We are pleased to offer this remarkably rare LeRoy Neiman poster entitled: Ella in Flight”. It was created in 1983 to mark the inaugural flight on January 12th 1983 of Continental Airlines’ “pub” inflight entertainment service. So far as is known, only company employees involved in the event received copies of this amazing poster, making it exceptionally rare. And this particular copy is probably the rarest one of all because it is felt tip signed by both Ella Fitzgerald herself at bottom left and felt tip signed by the artist LeRoy Neiman at bottom right. The artist has even included himself in the picture, slightly above Ella’s left shoulder.

LeRoy Neiman is one of the USA’s most sought after artists and his Limited Edition prints are highly collectable. Personally hand signed posters like this one are exceptionally rare.

The copy of “Ella in Flight” that we are offering for sale measures approximately 81 cm by 67 cm (32 inches by 26.5 inches). The poster is on paper with a lightly glazed finish and is bonded onto a sheet of hardboard. It is lightly framed, ready to hang. Condition of the poster is very good, especially considering its age. The hardboard is very slightly bowed meaning that it is threatening to pull away slightly from the from the light frame at the bottom but this could easily be fixed. And there is possibly a slight loss of colour on Ella’s dress due to the passage of time which has also caused some slight fading of Ella’s signature. But these are really very minor issues compared to the sheer rarity of this poster.

We will be happy to ship this remarkable poster worldwide, securely packaged, fully insured and with full on line tracking. We would anticipate shipping the poster sandwiched between two further sheets of hardboard in order to minimise the chance of any damage in transit. As an alternative, you are most welcome to collect personally and hence save on all postal costs. We are at Leatherhead, UK, just off Junction 9 of the M25 motorway.
