SHERREE VALENTINE-DAINES: Signed original oil painting on card: "Blackbird in the Garden". Framed and ready to hang. This is a unique opportunity to acquire an early work by the now world famous artist Sherree Valentine-Daines, one of whose most recent commissions was a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. This small jewel like oil painting measures approximately 34.5 cm. by 30 cm. and is in excellent overall condition apart from some slight flaking to the simple wooden wooden flame which can easily be made good. Sherree Valentine-Daines was born at Effingham in Surrey in 1956 into a highly artistic family. Her father was a sculptor and stonemason and her sisters are also artists. After studying at the Epsom School of Art she immediately attracted attention by winning the prestigious Laing Landscape and Seascape Competition and several further awards. Sherree's subjects range from landscapes to portraiture, working in oils, watercolour and pastels. She has painted the portraits of many famous people including Michael Parkinson on Rolf Harris's Star Portraits TV Show, as well as Joanna Lumley, John Sessions, Johnny Wilkinson and Martin Johnson. Increasingly, Sherree is building an international reputation with her paintings of the Social Scene and major sporting occasions such as Henley, Royal Ascot, World Cup Rugby, Tennis, Golf and Test Cricket. Some of her cricketing paintings, created as part of another TV series, are now in the museum at Lords Cricket Club. Sherree has had many successful exhibitions at venues such as the Mall Galleries, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Watercolour Society. Important collectors of her work include members of the Royal Family. Indeed, she has recently completed an official portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. Prices of the artist's original paintings have recently exceeded US$15,000 as collectors scramble to acquire examples of her work.

Sherree's husband is the noted artist Mark Rowbotham. The couple first met while both were attending the Epsom School of Art.
