GERALD PARKINSON British landscape artist - Biography - Paintings for Sale

GERALD PARKINSON: Signed framed seascape oil painting – View from a Beach 1960.

Here is a most beautiful and tranquil oil painting by the famed Sussex artist Gerald Parkinson. It is entitled “View from a Beach” and depicts a flotilla of the old much loved Thames sailing barges making their way east to west just off the Sussex coast, as observed by the artist on the beach. It is signed by the artist and handsomely framed in the 1960s style.

Paintings by Gerald Parkinson are now increasingly collectable and fetch high prices on the rare occasions that they come up for auction. For example, his “Good Morning, Britanny” recently fetched US$813 and his “Long and Winding Road” made US$775.

This lovely painting is expertly executed in oil on board and is signed by the artist at bottom right. It is handsomely framed in a silvered frame in the 1960s style, measuring overall approximately 95 cm. by 50 cm. The painting itself is in excellent condition with no sign of flaking or lifting of the paint surface although there is a small area of apparent repaired damage to the silvered frame. This does not, however, in any way detract. On the back, the artist has signed the painting again as GERALD PARKINSON, E. HOATHLY and dated the picture 1960. The picture is ready to hang.

We are asking £175 for this lovely Gerald Parkinson painting including UK postage but by all means try an offer. Enquiries please by Email to jameskt22 @ aol.com
