ROSS WARDLE is an internationally renowned artist who has built his reputation on his skill in depicting on canvas portrayals of Speed, whether in the air or on land. He initially came to the fore as an artist designing superb illustrations for the boxes of Matchbox plastic aircraft model kits of, for example, the Bristol Beaufighter MkX and the F9F-4 Panther fighter jet.

The artist went on to create highly memorable images of of Formula 1 cars and their drivers such as Jacques Villeneuve, Damon Hill, David Coulthard and many others. These paintings have enjoyed enduring popularity, changing hands regularly at prestigious auction galleries such as Bonhams and Barnebys.

As well as motor racing scenes, Ross Wardle created other memorable images of speed, including one of the Battle of Britain class railway locomotive Winston Churchill and the first flight of the Anglo French Concorde, the World’s first supersonic passenger jet.

Returning to cars, the artist published a series of highly popular Limited Edition signed prints of “on the road” cars such as the little MG roadster, the Mini-Copper S, the MGB and the Jaguar XK120.

Ross Wardle remains one of the country’s most collectable artists, especially in the fields of automotive and aviation art.
