Kappa

Kappa are a river-dwelling species of Youkai. In Gensokyo, they tend to live along a river on Youkai Mountain. They are a race of clever individuals who tend to excel at whatever field they choose to focus on.

Individual Lifestyle

Kappa are generally friendly towards both each other and outsiders. They both enjoy showing off how much they know, as well as profiting off others' desire to know about it or make use of it.

However, they're much less effective at group projects than humans and other races are, as each individual has their own idea of how to go about getting it done, and thinks of their way as being the best. Additionally, they may get distracted by their own projects, and lose interest. As a result, it's difficult for them to accomplish large-scale or long term projects, especially those that require cooperation.

However, they're able to organise themselves well for smaller-scale activities, and work extremely effectively on these kinds of projects.

Curious Inventors

Kappa are rather intelligent for Youkai. As a result, they often have interests other than fighting and attacking humans. They can be found trying to instead pursuing personal projects, or trying to sell their inventions or services to others.
