Sanzu River

This river, shrouded in mist, separates Gensokyo from Higan, and the world of the afterlife. It can only be crossed by being ferried across by a Shinigami. Any other attempt to cross it always results in sinking.

The amount of time it will take to cross is dependent on the sin of the one crossing. The ferryman, Komanchi Onozuka, reads the sin of a soul, and is able to make the opposite bank closer of further away, shortening or lengthening the journey.
