lumpia filling

Lumpia is good stuff. This recipe incorporates shrimp, hamburger, and sausage as the meat. You can add more or less bean sprouts to taste, and the same goes for the garlic salt. The recipe will fill around 50 lumpia. You'd then stick the filling in lumpia wrappers and fry them up.

  • 2 lb hamburger

  • 1 lb sausage

  • 1/2 cup shrimp (if desired)

  • 2 cans chopped green beans

  • 3 grated carrots

  • 1 onion

  • garlic salt to taste

  • 2 stalks celery

  • 1 C bean sprouts

  • 2-3 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 C soy sauce

1. Mince the onion. This can be done with a food processor.

2. Grate the 3 carrots and dice the celery.

3. Saute the onion and garlic salt in a skillet with several tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Drain and set aside.

4. Brown the hamburger meat and sausage over medium-high heat. Drain the grease and set aside.

5. Put the onion, hamburger meat and sausage in a large pot over medium-high heat. Mix in all the vegetables. Add 1 cup of soy sauce.

6. Stirring fairly often, simmer until tender.

7. Add the shrimp last. Mix the shrimp in and cook several more minutes.

9. Remove the mixture from the heat and let the mixture cool.
