pink cloud salad

Pink cloud salad makes an annual appearance at my mother's house on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Children like this very much. A rarer species that is similar to the pink cloud salad is the green cloud salad, which utilizes cream cheese and is less sweet.

  • 1 tub Cool Whip

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 can cherry pie filling (sweet, not sour)

  • 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple (drained)

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

1. Open the Cool Whip and put it in a large serving dish.

2. Open the can of sweetened condensed milk and add it to the Cool Whip. Stir the ingredients together.

3. Open the can of sweet cherry pie filling and add it to the mixture. Stir the ingredients together. Don't include the juices. The cherries by themself are sufficient to flavor the dish.

4. Open the can of crushed pineapple. Drain the juices off. Add the crushed pineapple to the mixture. Stir the ingredients together.

5. Add the cup of chopped walnuts to the mixture. Stir the ingredients together thoroughly.

6. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap. Place the mix in the refrigerator. The pink cloud salad will have a firm texture when it is ready to be served.
